ABOUT

Tulsi Tea House and Cafe brings you nourishing local food with a global influence and specializes in herbal infusions. Currently we host pop up dinners and high teas at various locations in Milwaukee. You may have seen us at the East Town Farmer's Market Summer 2018, The Winter Market at the Domes 2018-2019, Bay View Bash 2019, or the Shorewood Farmer's Market Summer 2019.

Tulsi is a sacred and delicious herb from India that we grow in our Wisconsin gardens. It also goes by the name of Holy Basil. Tulsi has a multitude of benefits, but one of our favorites is how it eases stress and anxiety. Eating food in community can have the same uplifting and healing benefits as tulsi. You can get a cup of tea at any meal we host! 2020 is a year of sharing our personal visions and collaborating on the greater collective vision of our society. We hope you join us.

HISTORY

Kate Strassman started her pop-up restaurant K.R.A.K., Kate's Renegade Aboveground Kitchen, in 2007. She had regular pop-up dinners in her fourth floor walk-up apartment in central Brooklyn, NY that drew New Yorkers from all walks of life. After traveling in Europe, living and teaching in India, working in many restaurants, and studying herbalism, her food repertoire has morphed and changed into what it is today. Kate has created Tulsi to bring simple, wholesome, food to her community in Milwaukee. She believes in using seasonal, local, and organic ingredients that highlight many vegetables and herbs.
